Commission an Original Painting

A commissioned painting is a custom artwork created to celebrate a place, memory, or landscape that is meaningful to you. Whether you're looking to preserve a favorite view from Hawaiʻi, commemorate a special moment, or create a unique landscape piece for your home, I'll work with you to design an original painting that captures the spirit of your vision while remaining true to my style!

Current Status: CLOSED

I accept a limited number of commissions throughout the year. Availability depends on my current schedule and project alignment. If my commissions are full, please feel free to reach out, I can add you to my waitlist.

PLEASE NOTE: I only accept commission work that is in the realm of my personal painting style and niche. Think vibrant Hawai'i landscapes; including mountains, the ocean, and other beautiful, lush scenes! Be sure to check out my website and socials to be sure my work aligns with your vision. I will politely decline project requests that are outside of my area of specialty.

How it Works

1. Share Your Vision

To begin, please fill out the commission form at the bottom of this page. The form is meant to get us discussing your ideas, inspiration, and reference photos. Whether you have a clear vision or just a starting point, we'll work together to develop the concept. This is also a great time to share what size you are thinking about for your painting (it's okay if you aren't sure yet) and the timeline you would like to receive your finished product! I typically recommend reaching out at least three months before you'd like to receive your finished artwork, especially for larger pieces.

2. Size & Quote

Once we have a direction, we'll choose a canvas size and I'll provide a personalized quote based on the size and complexity of the painting.

Each commission is individually quoted based on several factors, including:

• Canvas size

• Complexity/level of detail

• Hours 

• Materials ​

Shipping will be estimated separately.

​​​3. Sketch & Refine

Once we've discussed reference photos, inspiration, and canvas size, I'll create an initial sketch for your review. The sketch will be focused on the composition of the painting (it will not include color, however, at this point we will make sure we are on the same page with the color pallet as well). We'll make any adjustments until we're both excited about the composition before painting begins! After painting begins I accept very minor revisions, large revisions will be an additional cost.

4. Deposit

After the sketch is approved, I'll provide you with an initial quote of the artwork as well as a shipping estimate. A 30% non-refundable deposit of the artwork is required to reserve your commission and for me to begin painting! When I receive the deposit I'll purchase the canvas and materials and begin painting! When your painting is complete, I will send you a final invoice of the remaining balance as well as the actual shipping costs (not applicable if being picked up) and you will pay the remaining balance before I ship the painting to you.

5. Painting

As I work, I'm happy to share progress photos if you'd like to follow along. Watching a painting come to life is one of the most enjoyable parts of the process. Again, during the painting process I allow for minor adjustments, however if any larger changes are requested after painting has begun I may require an additional fee.

6. Completion

Once the painting is finished, I'll send final images for approval. I will also send you a final invoice of the remaining balance as well as the actual shipping costs (not applicable if being picked up) and you will pay the remaining balance before I ship the painting to you!

Commission Terms

• A 30% non-refundable deposit is required before painting begins.

• Minor revisions are welcomed during the sketch phase. Once painting has started, significant changes may incur additional costs.

• The collector receives the original painting.

• I retain the copyright to all commissioned artwork and reserve the right to reproduce the finished painting as fine art prints, portfolio pieces, and promotional materials.

• All commissions are created in my artistic style, and I do not replicate another artist's work.
